[Aion] Aion Warrior Guide for Beginners (10/17/2009)
A warrior guide for Aion beginners! Hope you like it!
In this four part series, I'll be exploring the starting classes/archetypes of NCSoft's upcoming MMORPG, "Aion," with the aim of helping you decide which path will be right for you. In this installment we will be looking at the Warrior, and how this gritty and strong play style later evolves into either the tank-like Templar or the polearm wielding Gladiator. And sometimes you may buy Aion gold or Aion Kina to help you.
Like every other starter class in "Aion", race doesn’t affect the class you choose. Whether you pick Elyos or Asmodian, the Warrior is likely something you'll recognize from other MMORPGs. It is one of the four archetypes that seem to be in almost every MMO -- the others being Priest, Mage, and Scout. Certainty you may buy Aion gold or Aion Kina to help you finish it fast.
The Look and Feel
Warriors are masters of close combat. They are about grit, power, and sheer strength, and use their great physical strength and prowess to pound the enemy and provide cover for allies, exhibiting a wide range of dazzling battle skills that other classes cannot perform. They are the knights who protect the group, and the swordsmen who run head first into an army of scared enemies. If you want to finish it fast, you may buy Aion gold or Aion Kina.As you first venture out into the world of Atreia, a young warrior is already proficient with the one-handed sword and mace, along with the capabilities of wearing cloth, leather or chain armor. They are also the only starting class in this MMORPG that can wield shields from level one. From the get-go, Warriors will be put into the role of straight up damage dealer or damage sponge. Even though you are not forced into a particular role in the first 10 levels, you start to learn the basic ways of the warrior.
When it comes to the maces and swords, neither is much better than the other so the choice is yours. Most warriors opt for the sword option because it looks cool and adds a tiny bit extra DPS; either way make sure to grab a shield for the extra protection. As a warrior you will stand out from the crowd a bit since you are the only starter class capable of wearing chain armor, so make sure to equip that specific type instead of leather or cloth. Sometimes Aion gold and Aion kina may help a lot in fact.
Combat
As explained above, there isn’t much choice when it comes to weapons. Just make sure to equip the best weapons through quest rewards and you’ll be good to go. Since the warrior is a powerful class from the beginning, there is no need to buy weapons from the merchant; just go with the flow of the quests and you’ll be level 10 in no time. And sometimes you may buy Aion gold or Aion Kina to help you.
Levels 1-3
Everyone starts out small, and the warrior is no exception. You are only given one ability to work with until you reach level three. Ferocious Strike is a straight forward ability that just extra damage in the middle of your auto attack. Just use this skill whenever the cooldown is up and you should be good to go until you get to level three. Once you reach this level you learn two new abilities: Shield Defense and Robust Blow.
Shield Defense is an amazing ability, but much more useful in the later levels. It increases Physical Defense by 10%, and Stun Resistance with Block by a rating of 500. The catch, however, is that it’s a constant buff, so if you use any ability it will shut off. (However, in later it is used as the first step to a great tanking combo.) Robust Blow is a straight forward extra damage ability that is the second chain ability triggered by the activation of Ferocious Strike. If you want to finish it fast, you may buy Aion gold or Aion Kina.

Levels 4-7
At level five you learn an ability called Weakening Severe Blow which does an initial blow of damage as well as decrease the Phys Def of the target by 100 for six seconds. It’s a good ability to start off your fights with as it helps increase the damage that your other abilities will do due to the lowered defense of the target.
Level seven introduces you to another great ability that you will use all the way to endgame: Shouting. Shouting increases your Phys Att by a small amount, and forms a protective shield on your character that absorbs 98 damage when hit. The absorbed damage increases as you level up, but having your own shield spell is a great defensive bonus not only when going up against enemy players and bosses, but while grinding, too. With the shield up, you don’t have to worry about healing yourself often when grinding mobs, so make sure to keep it up whenever you get a chance. However, it is the second skill on a chain (also triggered with Ferocious Strike) so make wise decisions when choosing what abilities to use. Certainty you may buy Aion gold or Aion Kina to help you finish it fast.
Levels 8-9
Level nine isn’t as exciting for the warrior as the other starting classes; you only get one ability called Shield Counter. This will be an important skill down the road when you are higher level (as a Templar especially), but for the earlier levels -- not so much. It’s a proc ability, which means it can only activate upon a successful block from Shield Defense, which then gives you the opportunity to hit the enemy with your shield dealing some damage and stunning them for a few moments. It will prove to be useful for Templars, but useless for Gladiators as you won’t be using a shield. Sometimes Aion gold and Aion Kina may help a lot in fact.
Ascension and the Big Decision
At level nine, like every other starter class, you are given the mission line to become a Daeva and choose the path you will take for the rest of the MMORPG. Once you’ve completed the mission line, the big decision is forced upon you in a rather quick and uninformative way. Without any background knowledge you might be a little lost as to which class you would pick. Let’s look at a small preview of the two choices that are given to Warriors.
There are two distinctive differences between the two main class choices that Warriors decide on. A Templar, who focuses purely on receiving all the damage and protecting his or her team at all costs, or a Gladiator, who rushes into the frenzy of battle wielding a gigantic polearm. Templars are there to mitigate damage, receive most of the damage being dealt, and harass the healers and mages in PvP combat. You are blessed with a very large health pool and armor that will make every class envious of you. If paired with a healer, you’ll feel virtually invincible; the knight in shining armor, the protector of his fellow Daevas. And sometimes you may buy Aion gold or Aion Kina to help you.
The Gladiator, on the other hand, doesn’t have much interest in protecting his group. Even though they could act as backup tanks in PvE, their main role will be that of a damage dealer and debuffer. Equipped with a polearm or greatsword, the Gladiator isn’t afraid of any opponent, gladly charging first into a large group of enemies and doing area-of-effect damage instilling dread and fear. Any party would gladly accept the Gladiator as an integral part of any offensive force. If you want to finish it fast, you may buy Aion gold or Aion Kina.
